Damascus, (SANA) – Minister of Electricity Dr. Ahmad Khaled al-Ali discussed on Monday with a delegation of the German-Arab Friendship Society (DAFG) the cooperation in the domain of energy, particularly improving performance and using renewable energy sources.

Talks discussed the possibility of benefiting from German expertise and establishing joint companies for renewable energy, such as wind and solar energy.

Dr. al-Ali underlined the importance of Syria-German relations and the need to benefit from German experience in building eco-friendly houses that use a minimum amount of energy and benefit from solar energy.

He added that both sides agreed to establish an experimental project for renewable energy  that will serve as a model for public establishments and cooperative housing societies.

For their part, members of the delegation expressed desire to cooperate and build up expertise by establishing joint companies with the Syrian public and private sectors.
