DAMASCUS, SANA _Assistant Regional Secretary of al-Baath Arab Socialist Party Mohammed Said Bkheitan on Thursday reviewed with Chairman of the Czech Social Democratic Party (SDP) Jiri Paroubek the situation in the region and bilateral cooperation between Syria and the Czech Republic.

During the meeting, Bkheitan briefed the Czech side on the achievements accomplished on various fields in Syria, particularly on the developmental and investment levels.

For his part, Paroubek stressed the importance of bolstering the bilateral cooperation between the two countries, particularly cooperation and coordination between the two  parties.

He reiterated his country's support to Syria's right in the restoration of occupied Syrian Golan and the establishment of a just and comprehensive peace in the Middle East, asserting Syria's pivotal role in realizing peace and stability in the region.

Talks during the meeting dealt with issues of common interest.
