Damascus, (SANA) - Chairman of the Czech Social Democratic Party Jiri Paroubek and an accompanying delegation arrived in Damascus on Monday on an official visit to Syria during which they will hold talks with Syrian officials on bolstering cooperation between the two countries.

In a statement in Prague on Sunday, Paroubek said "Syria is a traditional partner of the Czech Republic," stressing the importance of improving Czech-Syrian relations.
