Damascus, (SANA)- Lebanese President Michel Sleiman has described Lebanon's relations with Syria as distinguished and strategic and President Bashar al-Assad as a man of high credibility.

"Relations with Syria are distinguished and strategic. President al-Assad is distinguished by kindness, high morality and credibility. He is an honest man who shuns favoritism," the Lebanese President said in an interview with Lebanese as-Safir newspaper published on Tuesday.

He pointed out that he is in constant contacts with President al-Assad.

He stressed that there is a full understanding with The President and that they both consult on several issues related to the common interest of the two countries.

The Lebanese President said that President al-Assad, in his interview with the Lebanese al-Manar T.V., has expressed clearly his stance, his strategic stance regarding the Arab issue, particularly the Palestinian cause and the stance regarding supporting resistance, noting that "what he had said is more than positive and I adopt it".

"Lebanon needs resistance, our need to resistance is still insistent and we should save it", he added.
