Damascus, (SANA) - People of the occupied Syrian Golan on Sunday commemorated the 28th anniversary of the open strike they announced in 1982 against the Israeli occupation authorities' decision of annexing the Golan and imposing the Israeli laws and identity on the Syrian citizens by force.
On this occasion, people of the occupied and liberated parts of the Syrian Golan gathered at the sites of Ain al-Tina and Majdal Shams to commemorate the anniversary.
They reiterated their adherence to their Syrian Arab identity and their rejection of all the illegitimate decisions of the occupation authorities, affirming that they will continue their struggle until they liberate the occupied Syrian Golan.
In their speech, people of the Golan asserted their commitment to their Syrian Arab identity and their affiliation to their motherland Syria, affirming that their Syrian identity is a badge of honor that will remain on their chests forever.
The two liberated captives Bisher al-Maqet and Asaim al-Wali expressed the deep affiliation of Golan people to their motherland Syria, asserting their loyalty to the martyrs and heroes and their adherence to the resistance and struggle until the complete restoration of the Golan.
They also expressed their pride of President Bashar al-Assad's leadership and his national and pan-Arab stances.
For his part, Secretary of al-Baath Arab Socialist Party Branch in Quneitera Mohammad al-Afish said that the heroism and sacrifices of Golan people are appreciated by all the Syrian people and by President al-Assad who works relentlessly for restoring all the occupied Golan.
On this occasion, the Popular Commission for the Liberation of Golan issued a statement depicting the challenges and exercises of the Israeli occupation which have been faced by the people of the occupied Golan who believe in the inevitability of victory.
The statement pointed out that the legendary steadfastness of the Golan people reflects the aspirations of the Syrian people and comes in response to the stances of the Syrian wise leadership.
