Oct 10, 2009

Liberated Quneitera, Southern Syria, (SANA) –Arab-International Golan Forum indicates that the world supports Syria's right in restoring its occupied lands and usurped rights, Secretary General of the Algerian National Liberation Front Abdelaziz Belkhadem said Saturday.

In a speech delivered at the Forum, Belkhadem asserted that the strong will and determination to face the Israeli occupation are the only choice for restoring rights.

Mark Jikan, Head of Middle East and North Africa Department at the Faculty of Political and International Studies in Poland asserted that the Golan is an occupied Syrian land and it has the right to restore it according to UN resolutions.

The world must get more acquainted with the Golan issue that was occupied by Israel in 1967 and seek to end this occupation as soon as possible, he added.

"I participated in this Forum to voice support for the Syrian people in Golan and other nations under occupation to restore their usurped lands." American Human Rights Activist Stanley Cohen said.

Chairman of Palestine Friends Organization in Australia Paddes Ness said" The Australian people have started to understand the aggressive Israeli practices in Golan and the other occupied Arab lands. Upon returning to Australia, I will work with my government for proving the right of the Syrian people to restore the Golan."

Egyptian Thinker Abdullah al-Ashaal asserted that Israel practices and its violation of the international law in the occupied Syrian Golan will not change the fact that Golan is part of the Arab world.

"The Forum asserts that the Golan is a Syrian Arab land and the world must be aware of its people's suffering and the necessity to step up efforts to restore it." Chairman of the Jordanian Anti-Zionism Association Laith al-Shbilat said.

Member of the Lebanese Islamic Labor Front Zuhair Othman Jaaer said "The Forum indicates the support of Arab and international bodies for Syria to restore the Golan."

"The participation of several Arab national organizations and parties of different Arab spectrums assert that they stand by Syria, the resistance and the Arab rights." Chairman of Arab Students General Union Executive Committee Ahmad Mubarak al-Shater said.
