Syrian Human Rights Network Condemns Ignoring Crimes of Armed Groups

May 12, 2011

DAMASCUS, (SANA) – The Syrian Human Rights Network said "some human rights organizations and opposition parties deviated from its missions and goals ignoring the crimes of killing perpetrated by armed groups and misleading international organizations.

Issuing a statement on Thursday, the Network said "these organizations forgo their essential mission to record violations threatening the lives of citizens and children and stood by violence, killing and vandalism acts.

The Coordination Committee in the Network wondered where are these organizations when the killing, the mutilation of the bodies and terrifying families were committed, indicating to the ambushes set up by the armed members claiming the lives of 10 workers and wounding three men in their way back from Lebanon, in addition to opening fire at a family heading to Homs.

The network called on these organizations and the opposition to review what they learned from the Universal Declaration of Human Rights, condemning their delusive role in misleading the international institutions through their incomplete data and supporting TV satellite channels in their fabricated news.

It condemned the international pressures exerted on Syria, depending on these delusive information and data.

The Network added that the reform steps made under the leadership of President Bashar al-Assad were in line with the Syrian people's aspirations which helped enhance the national unity but they still need time to be fully implemented.
