Haidar: Government continues efforts to meet citizens’ needs

Damascus, SANA- State Minister for National Reconciliation Affairs Dr. Ali Haidar affirmed on Monday that the government is continuing efforts to meet the humanitarian needs of citizens in all areas through the Higher Relief Committee, pointing out that the government is providing around 70% of the aid distributed to the Syrian people.

During his meeting with the head of the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) commission in Syria Marianne Gasser and her accompanying delegation, Haidar stressed the importance of unifying governmental efforts to deal with the file of the missing, adding that terrorist organizations are using this file to stir mistrust between the Syrian government and people.

“Terrorist organizations and the states supporting them had derailed local reconciliations and aid deliveries to citizens, thus posing major challenges to both files,” Haidar noted.

For her part, Gasser expressed her willingness to cooperate with the National Reconciliation Affairs ministry in providing aid to Syrians.
