Russia criticizes US plans to support terrorist organizations in Syria

Moscow, SANA- Russia criticized US plans to support terrorist organizations or what Washington calls “moderate opposition” in Syria, affirming that any support for such organizations will increase instability in Syria.

Commenting on Washington’s announcement of plans to support terrorists in Syria, the Russian President Vladimir Putin’s spokesman Dmitry Peskov considered that it will further destabilize the situation in Syria in a way that will probably play into the hands of ISIS terrorists.

Peskov explained that that this support could be exploited by the Islamic State in Iraq and Syria (ISIS) because the leadership intended to be blunted is losing the ability to face this organization and to prevent its expansion.

He asserted that this issue is a matter of dispute between Moscow and Washington.

Russian Foreign Ministry announced that a meeting will bring together Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov, U.S. Secretary of State John Kerry and Saudi Foreign Minister Saudi Foreign Minister Adel Al-Jubeir in Qatar on Monday to discuss finding political solutions for crises in Syria, Yemen and Libya and international efforts to combat ISIS.
