Hasaka Education Directorate, UNICEF set a plan for rehabilitating 35 schools

Hasaka, SANA-Hasaka Education Directorate in cooperation with the UNICEF Office has set a work plan in the educational domain that includes rehabilitating 35 schools during Summer Holiday in different areas of the province.

The plan also includes holding awareness courses on the effects of war on children with the participation of the teaching cadres of the Directorate.

Chairman of the UNICEF Office in Qamishli al-Tayyeb Adam told SANA that his office paid the costs of transporting 142 tons of textbooks from Damascus to Qamishli to provide the needs of the schools before the beginning of the new academic year.

Adam indicated that over the last school year, UNICEF Office distributed about 100 schoolbags among the Basic Education students through 16 educational communities in Hasaka province.

“The Office has also contributed to carrying out maintenance works that covered 14 schools in different areas in the province, in addition to digging 7 wells to provide the drinking water in the schools” He added.
