PLO delegation, Palestinian factions seek a solution to crisis of Yarmouk camp

Damascus, SANA-A delegation from the Palestinian Liberation Organization (PLO) discussed with representatives of the Palestinian factions in Damascus means of maintaining a unified Palestinian stance, seeking a solution to the crisis in Yarmouk camp, particularly after the infiltration of terrorist organizations to it and displacing a large number of its residents.

“Work is underway to ensure food, health materials to the displaced people outside the camp in addition to delivering humanitarian aid to those who still live inside it in cooperation with the Syrian government,” Anwar Abdul-Hadi, Director of the Political Bureau of PLO said in a statement to SANA.

He added the meeting with the Palestinian visiting delegation aims to press for dismissing the Islamic State in Iraq and Syria (ISIS) and Jabhat al-Nusra terrorist organizations from the camp, underlining respect for Syria sovereignty.

Abdul-Hadi pointed out to the commitment of the Palestinians to have a unified stance on the crisis in Syria, saying the delegation has made constructive talks with a number of Syrian officials who affirmed that the Syrian army will not enter the camp, caring about the Palestinian blood.

Deputy Foreign and Expatriates Minister Fayssal Mikdad met the delegation on Tuesday, stressing that the Syrian government is doing its best to alleviate the suffering of the people of Yarmouk Camp, noting that the government provided shelter and aid to the people who fled the camp and even delivered aid to those who remained inside it.
