Homs governor discuses with ICRC delegation means to expand relief work in the province

Homs, SANA- Governor of Homs, Talal Barazi, discussed on Thursday with deputy Chairman of the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) mission in Syria Beatrice Oxley the relief work in the province and the possibility to expand it to cover other areas in addition to the required measures to facilitate the ICRC work.

Oxley affirmed the international organization’s readiness to deliver humanitarian aid to citizens in any area to achieve the basic goal of the humanitarian work, appreciating the efforts of Syrian government for facilitating the ICRC work.

She pointed out that the ICRC has given attention in the previous period to areas where witnessed the return of families like Old Homs, pointing out ot the importance of cooperation with the Syrian Arab Red Crescent (SARC)  which is considered a basic partner in relief work.

The governor also affirmed the city’s readiness to offer all facilities to ICRC, calling on the mission to deliver more aid to citizens.
