Syrians donate blood in support of army and in solidarity with Golan people

Provinces, SANA – Locals of Jaramana city in Damascus countryside participated Saturday in a blood donation campaign in an expression of loyalty to the army personnel who are injured in the course of the war against terrorism.

The campaign, organized by the city’s council, was meant also to show solidarity with the Syrian citizens in the Israeli-occupied Golan on the occasion of the blessed anniversary of their Feb. 14, 1982 heroic strike against the Israeli occupation authorities’ annexation of Golan in 1981.

Activities took part in the event, which was organized by the Council of the city.

The participants in the event, who included religious, cultural and popular figures, expressed Support to the Syrian Arab army whose members are courageously facing the terrorist organizations, asserting that the campaign aims at confirming “unity of the Syrian people and army”.

“February 14th is a day to renew rejection of the Israeli identity and to voice commitment to the Syrian Arab identity,” said Safwan Issam Sha’lana, a citizen from the Golan.

In the same context, and as part of a three-day campaign, General Women’s Union branches in several provinces organized blood donation drives and visits to injured army personnel and army checkpoints.

Blood donation campaigns was organized by the Hama, Homs, Idleb, and Aleppo branches of the General Women’s Union, with a considerable turnout of donors who came to take part in this gesture of fealty and love towards the Syrian Arab Army.
