DPRK Ambassador stresses Pyongyang’s continued economic support for Syria

Damascus, SANA – Ambassador of the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea (DPRK) in Damascus said his country wishes to develop economic and unionist relations with Syria.

Both countries, Ambassador Jang Myong Ho said, are facing similar big challenges in terms of the stifling economic blockade and sanctions imposed on their people by the US administration and the West.

He was talking during a meeting on Sunday with Chairman of the General Federation of Trade Unions Jamal Qadiri that discussed mainly issues of stepping up bilateral relations in the unionist field.

Qadiri expressed hope that DPRK will play an important role in the post-crisis reconstruction process in Syria that is being prepared for.

While voicing his country’s confidence in Syria’s ability to achieve victory and overcome its ongoing terrorism-triggered crisis, the Ambassador stressed that DPRK will continue to stand by Syria in its just struggle against terrorism.

Pyongyang, he added, will offer Damascus support and assistance to enable it to better face the economic difficulties.
