Moscow, SANA-Russian President Vladimir Putin stressed the depth of relations between Russia and Belarus and the two countries’ keenness to develop strategic partnership and alliance relations in the interest of the two brotherly peoples.
President Putin’s remarks came in a congratulatory message to his Belarusian counterpart Alexander Lukashenko on the independence day of the Republic of Belarus.
“Today, the citizens of Russia and Belarus maintain and continue to strengthen ties of friendship, alliance and mutual assistance, and by developing strategic partnership and alliance relations, the two countries overcome serious adversities and defend their interests on the world stage,” Putin was cited by Sputnik News Agency as saying.
Putin added that through joint efforts, the two countries will continue to build constructive bilateral relations, improve the institutions of the Union State and promote integration processes in the Eurasian space, and this, of course, meets the fundamental interests of the peoples of the two countries.
