Temperatures to drop, rainfalls expected over coastal, southwestern regions

Damascus, SANA-Temperatures will continue to drop to become from 2 to 4 degrees below average as the country is affected by a superficial low air pressure accompanied by southwestern air currents in all layers of the atmosphere.

Meteorology Department expected in its Thursday bulletin that the skies will be cloudy in general to cloudy with an opportunity for showers over the coastal and southwestern regions and they will be heavy and accompanied by thunder sometimes, while the weather will be relatively cold at night, warning against frost over the mountains.

The wind will be westerly to southwesterly with a low to moderate speed and it will be active with dusty conditions in the eastern and al-Badia “semi-desert” regions, while the sea waves will be low to medium in height.

Different amounts of rainfalls have been registered in some provinces over the past 24 hours as follows: Tartous 20mm, Damascus 2 mm, Homs 2mm and Lattakia 17mm.

The expected temperatures in some major Syrian cities will be as follows: Damascus 17/5, Daraa 18/7, Homs 16/6, Lattakia 19/13, Aleppo 18/5 and Deir Ezzor 22/11.
