Tal Ba’at.. Archeological treasure of successive civilizations

Sweida, SANA – Tal Ba’at ( Hill of Ba’at ) is located to the North-eastern side of al-Mugheir village in the farthest southern part of Sweida, is considered as a rich subject for researchers and archeologists as the site includes antiquities that refer to past successive civilizations in the region.

Archaeologist researcher, Tawfik Safadi told SANA that the hill has a charming scope of view on all plains and heights surrounding it, noting that “the Butler mission”, which has visited the region at the beginning of the last century, indicated to the existence a small temple dating back to the early Christian times in the 2nd century AD and an inscription on stone dating back to 354 AD.
