Mikdad: Assassination of Fakhrizadeh unjustified crime

Damascus, SANA-Foreign and Expatriates Minister Dr. Faysal Mikdad, during a phone call with Iranian Foreign Minister, Mohammad Javad Zarif, offered the deepest condolences over the martyrdom of science and the nation, scientist Mohsen Fakhrizadeh, on behalf of the leadership, government and people of the Syrian Arab Republic.

Mikdad strongly condemned the cowardly act carried out by Zionist tools against a great scientist whose main concern was to develop science and knowledge, including finding medicine for Coronavirus.

Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates stressed that this crime cannot be justified because it is a strike against scientists in all parts of the world and because it leads to insecurity and instability in the region.

Mikdad called on the international community to condemn the crime and bring its perpetrators into justice because such crimes make the International Community to Lose Its senior Scientists and encourage the Zionist terrorism and others to commit such crimes.

He expressed his sincerely condolences to Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution of Iran, Ali Khamenei, and to president Hassan Rouhani, Minister Zarif, and to the brotherly Iranian government and Iranian people.

For his part, Minister Zarif expressed his appreciation for sincere condolences and stressed his gratitude to President Bashar al-Assad, President of the Syrian Arab Republic, for his sympathy with the Iranian people and their leadership and standing by Iran, affirming that his country will continue standing by Syria in its war against terrorism.

He also stressed that the Zionist entity and those who stand behind such crimes with external support will not lead to weaken the Iranian people to gain further scientific achievements and in confronting terrorism in the region and the world, wishing victory for Syria in its war to preserve its sovereignty, territorial integrity.
