Palmyra, SANA –The salt extracted from Sabkha of Moah Tadmur, located at 25 km to the south of Palmyra city is considered as one of the best salt kinds for its purity and free from  toxic substances.

Director of the General Institution of Geology in Homs, Ali al-Roshedi, said in a statement to SANA that the establishment is following the extraction, investment and marketing salt from the region of al-Sabkha which is formed as a result of water ravines when the abundant rain falls  on the region.

The production for the current season is estimated at about 70 ,000 tons as it constitutes a great revenue to the national economy.

However, the salt contributes to giving jobs for the labor force and eliminating the unemployment among the locals of Palmyra city who inherited the work from their parents and grandfathers.
