Pedersen: Meetings of Committee of Discussing the Constitution will be resumed Thursday

 Geneva, SANA- UN Special Envoy for Syria Geir Pedersen announced Thursday that the meetings of the Committee of Discussing the Constitution to be resumed today afternoon after the concerned health authorities have confirmed the possibility of resuming them.

In a statement, Pedersen said that after the additional test and more of medical advices and experts regarding four positive tests prior to coronavirus, the office of the special envoy was formally informed by the concerned health authorities that the nature of those cases show that the 3rd round of the committee can resume its meetings with a complete social distancing and taking all relevant precautions.

He added that after consulting all the participant presidents and members of the committee, the meetings will be resumed at 2:00 p.m. at the UN Palace in Geneva.

Last Monday, UN announced the suspension of meetings of the mini-committee of the expanded body of the Committee of Discussing the Constitution in Geneva following the discovery of infections among a number of the participant delegations with Corona virus.
