Syrian team gains advanced rank in 11th WRO Russia 2014

Moscow, SANA – The Syrian team for the Senior High age group gained an advanced rank in the finals of 11th World Robot Olympiad (WRO Russia 2014) which lasted for three days in the Russian city of Sochi.

Muhib al-Nuqqari, the head of the Syrian team participating in the event, told SANA’s correspondent in Moscow that we are waiting for the declaration of the 16 finalists of the teams qualified including the Syrian team.

Al-Nuqqari stressed that the Syrian team is expected to be among the first 10 teams in the competitions of the WRO Russia 2014 after Thailand, Taiwan and Russia have gained the first three positions.

The World Robot Olympiad is a global robotics competition for young people. It was first held in 2004 in Singapore, it now attracts 1000 participants from 37 countries.

WRO aims at bringing together young robotics scientists from all over the world to develop their creativity, design and problem-solving skills through challenging and educational robot competitions and activities.
