Syria, FAO discuss mechanisms of meeting agriculture sector needs

Damascus, SANA-Minister of Internal Trade and Consumer Protection Hassan Majed Safiya discussed with the representative of the United Nations Food and Agriculture Organisation (FAO) Erico Hibi mechanisms of developing and enhancing cooperation relations for meeting the needs of the agricultural sector in Syria.

0Safiyah underlined the role of FAO in providing technical and humanitarian assistance to the Syrian people, pointing to the extensive damage done to the internal trade sector due to the heinous acts of terrorist organizations, which have had negative impacts on the citizens’ living standards.

Hibi underscored the interest in a durable provision of support and humanitarian assistance to the Syrian people, highlighting the ministry’s role in bolstering mutual cooperation.

The two sides discussed the support provided by FAO and its technological, technical and humanitarian assistance amid the unfair war waged against Syria.
