Former Slovak Prime Minister: It is time to change European stances towards Syria

Damascus, SANA- Speaker of the People’s Assembly Hammoudeh Sabbagh said that Syria is on road to achieving a final victory over terrorism and its supporters.

Sabbagh was speaking during a meeting with a Slovak delegation led by former Prime Minister of Slovakia Jan Carnogursky on Monday.

Sabbagh expressed Syria’s appreciation for the stances of friendly and peace-loving countries and peoples in support of the Syrian people in which peoples are aware of the conspiracy against the Syrians who made sacrifices aimed at preserving the country’s stability and sovereignty.

Sabbagh pointed out to the importance of the visits paid by the European delegations to Syria in conveying the real image of the terrorist war against it to the European public opinion due to the distorted facts circulated by Western outlets.

For his part, Carnogurský affirmed that the Slovak delegation is currently visiting Syria to express solidarity with the Syrian people, indicating that many NGOs in Slovakia have been organizing demonstrations monthly for three years in support of Syria in the fight against terrorism.

Carnogursky told journalists following the meeting that the delegation’s visit aims to send messages to the Europeans that it is time to change their positions towards Syria, hailing the sacrifices and victories achieved by Syria’s people, army and leadership, in cooperation with the friends especially Russia, against terrorism.
