Syrian delegation arrives in Astana to participate in the 11th round of talks on settling crisis

Astana, SANA – Delegation of the Syrian Arab Republic, headed by Dr. Bashar al-Jaafari, arrived in the Kazakh capital of Astana on Tuesday to participate in the 11th round of talks on settling the crisis in Syria within the Astana Process scheduled on 28th and 29th of the current month.

The Kazakh Foreign Ministry said on Monday that all the invitees to the new round will attend, as there will be a representation from the United Nations.

Director of Asia and Africa Department at the Kazakh Foreign Ministry Heydar Beck Tomatov said in a press statement in Astana that the Iranian delegation, which is to participate in the talks, is headed by Senior Assistant to Iranian Foreign Minister for Political Affairs Hussein Jabri Ansari while the Russian delegation is headed by Russian President’s Special Envoy to Syria Alexander Lavrentiev.

He pointed out that the bilateral and tripartite consultations by experts are to be held in the first day of the Astana meeting, as the general session is to be held next Thursday.
