Syria signs Code of Conduct to Achieve a Terrorism-Free World

New York, SANA- Delegation of the Syrian Arab Republic on Friday participated in signing “Code of Conduct to Achieve a Terrorism-Free World” on the sidelines of the 73rd session of the UN General Assembly (UNGA 73) currently held in New York.

Syria’s Permanent Representative to the UN Dr. Bashar al-Jaafari signed that political declaration on behalf of the government of the Syrian Arab Republic along with representatives of more than one hundred UN member states.

The Code affirms that combating terrorism is a collective international work that must be based on a true political will for eliminating this threat in order to guarantee security and luxury of the peoples of the world without politicization or selectivity.

The Code was prepared upon an initiative by Kazakhstan as Syria effectively participated in the consultations which lasted for several months.

It underlines the necessity of intensifying international efforts for eradicating all the conditions and factors which lead to the spread of the danger of terrorism.

Syria’s participation in preparing and signing the code comes in the framework of its principled stance which is based on the absoluteness   of confronting and eliminating terrorism and the active participation in any true international effort which seeks to fight this international threat.
