Syria: Israel still defies international community, making use of support offered by some UN member states

Geneva, SANA- Syria’s permanent envoy to the UN in Geneva, ambassador Hussam al-Din Ala said that the UN has persisted to call on Israel to end its occupation of the Syrian Golan and the Palestinian lands since 1967, including Jerusalem, stop its settlement polices and its aggressive practices against civilians under occupation, but Israel still defies the international community, dealing recklessly with the UN resolutions.

“Israel makes use of the support offered by a number of UN members states, therefore, it goes on in perpetrating violations of the human rights in the occupied Arab lands, rejecting to yield to the international human law as it still violates the simplest human rights, starting from the right of life, education, work and health, reaching to the right of sovereignty on natural resources,” Ala recited Syria statement at a deliberation session under the 7th item on the Human rights council.

He added it seems that Israel’s greed and ambition didn’t stop at the limits of consolidating its occupation of the Syrian Arab Golan, but it moved today to encourage and facilitate the flow of the terrorist organizations, including Jabhat al-Nusra, into the Disengagement zone and attack members of the UNDOF, seeking to evacuate the region from the peace-keeping forces.

Ala affirmed that the UN Secretary General’s report, issued on September 12, on the UNDOF, confirmed those facts as it reported that UNDOF noticed contacts between the armed terrorist organizations and Israeli occupation forces through the cease-fire line near post 85.

He added that the report, confirmed by UNDOF, gives an explanation on the reasons behind Israel’s support to those terrorists, encouraging them to attack the Syrian Arab army and UNDOF members to end any international monitoring on the Israeli practices.
