Central Bank will no longer replace intentionally defaced paper currency

Damascus, SANA – The Central Bank of Syria (CBS) announced on Monday that it will no longer be replacing paper currency that was defaced intentionally, and that any such currency submitted to it will be confiscated.

In a statement, the CBS said that deliberate defacing of currency covers writing, drawing, and stamping on it, in addition to perforating or burning it or damaging it due to careless handling and storage.
